Remembering The Company Men
honoring those who gave there last full measure of devotion in secret
For anyone who has been around CrossFit or other military-style fitness culture, you are familiar with the memorial workout of the day (WOD) for fallen servicemembers, especially for those KIA in Afghanistan & Iraq. I’ve personally attempted a Murph and with an organization called GoRuck have completed a few more in honor of KIA GWOT soldiers. These are worthwhile, bring a lot of attention, and provide a great workout.
I believe the stories of America’s silent warriors deserves to be told also. If you are an avid reader and supporter for Spycraft 101, Justin Black, the curator & founder, has found amazing stories some previously known, but most unknown or untold, of the covert missions & sometimes secret deaths of OSS & CIA officers in service to our country.
Monthly, my goal is to provide a story of one or more of these secret warriors and members of The Company along with a rucking challenge to complete. Eventually, the goal is to offer patches, stickers, and/or shirts to go along with these challenges.
Look for the first one to hit the end of August for a September WOM. In the meantime, I will be posting some ruck related articles to better explain what rucking is and how to train for these challenges.
